Hey hey.
okay, this is a wee miracle that happened to me the other day.
Most of you who've spent any time with me and a computer will know that i have an external hard drive to which I've been backing up work for a large number of years now (6 infact).
it's got a lot of stuff on it that simply can't be replaced, film work, customer's film work...stuff for which people have paid me awesome little amounts of money to make etc etc.
So the other day when it didn't wanna start up I got a little annoyed.
I knew that this day was coming, just didn't really do anything about it etc (i know...my fault entirely).
Any way, it didn't wanna go...boot up....anything for a good few days.
I eventually gave up on the idea, and looked into how much it'd cost to have the data on it taken off by a company who can do that (as I know that exists).
Turns out that it'd have to be sent to Aus and would cost something like $2000!
So the other day i decide to give it one last shot...
it began to wir away, then stopped, then started then stopped etc etc as it had been doing for awhile.
So I laid my hand on it and simply prayed healing over the thing...
A min later, all the little lights on my external casing come on and the thing booted up.
So now with everything successfully transferred to a much more reliable hard drive I am a a lot happier in the knowledge that God has once again saved my day with his awesome loving power...THANK YOU GOD!
One for the nerds!!
God Bless,
Jonny.

"I'll be home for Christmas!"
This is an awesome email I got from Ben, so I'll let his words do the talking.
We both hope it helps and encourages you to step out in everything, nothing's too small or big for God.
Hi everyone,
So, had a bit of an adventure getting up home to Gisborne from Christchurch this year. God did some pretty cool stuff in me through it, so thought I would share that with a few people.
Flights from Christchurch to Gisborne were pretty expensive, so I booked a flight to Rotorua and a bus across to Gisborne at half the price of the flight in. Fair enough aye. Things began to get interesting as we approached Rotorua when the pilot announced that the conditions in Rotorua had deteriorated since take-off, and that we had enough fuel for one attempt at landing and then could make it up to Auckland if it didn't "pan out". I was a little unclear as to what an attempt at landing that doesn't "pan out" looks like, but after a number of other similarly brilliant calls by the pliot we eventually landed in Auckland. They then put us on a bus to Rotorua, around 3 1/2 hours away. It was at this point that things started to get interesting, because my bus to Gisborne (the last one of the day) was due to leave before I would even be clear of the Bombay Hills. At this point I should probably mention that it was also Christmas Eve.
Mum contacted a radio station and they had put the word out that I was needing a ride home for Christmas.
At the same time, without a moment of asking God how I might deal with the situation, I called a rental car company and booked a car from Rotorua Airport to Gisborne for that afternoon. Using a discount from work, the cost of the car and petrol would have been about the same as flying right into Gisborne. As soon as I hung up from the car rental company, I felt convicted about just using money to "buy" my way out of a situation instead of relying on God more, which is how I would like to live. I had faith that "those who put their trust in the LORD will not be put to shame", so I called up the car rental company and cancelled my booking, saying I was getting a ride with someone (I just didn't know who!). At that point it was pretty easy to have faith because I figured someone was bound to call up and offer a ride, and if not I would try Radio Rhema myself.
By the time we got to Matamata a little before 4pm I hadn't received any offers of a ride. I got on the phone to Radio Rhema, explained my situation and asked if they could put a message out for me. Unfortunately, or maybe rather fortunately, they weren't able to due to legal liability reasons. At that point I realised that I was truly relying on God being God for me to make it home for Christmas. As the bus pulled around the corner, I saw the personalised plant YES I AM, although to be honest I was getting a little nervous by this point.
We arrived at Rotorua Airport, over 4 hours from Gisborne, at around 5pm. There wasn't any more public transport heading to Gisborne until the following afternoon, Christmas day, and nobody had come up to me saying God had stopped them on their way to Gisborne and told them to give me a ride, like I had hoped. Hitching a ride wasn't something I had felt like considering as an option up until this point, and had never done before, but after praying briefly I felt a peace about it so went out to the road by the airport and, trying to look my most respectable, stuck my thumb out.
My ride was guy a little older than me heading to Ohope, which is around 2 1/2 hours from Gisborne. I was pretty stoked with getting that far, and wasn't keen to try hitching further as it got later and darker, so gave Mum a call and she started over to meet me and give me a ride home. Good old Mum aye! As we got closer to Ohope I figured I could probably get a bit closer to home, so stuck my thumb out again and made it another 20km further. At this point I was pretty happy with where I had made it to, and my ride was on the way, so I figured I would just wait there. Just then, a lady who had seen me hitching earlier, but who didn't have room in her car, stopped and rearranged everything to make room and offered me a ride. By this stage Mum was out of coverage in the Waioeka Gorge, so I couldn't tell her that my ride was heading through to Gisborne as well, so we met up in Opotiki. But God had provided for me to get home for Christmas!
So I did actually pike out of trusting God totally towards the end, but He still showed His faithfulness and provision for me and I know He is patient while I learn to put my trust in Him more and depend on Him for my needs in "real" situations. Walking by faith! I also "discovered" hitch-hiking, which you may well see me using a bit in the future, because just getting in the car or booking a ticket is so self-reliant and takes away such a good opportunity to rely on God in our daily lives. Although I would call getting places in some people’s cars driving by faith!
So that's what's being going on for me lately. Pretty cool huh? Wishing everyone all the best for the rest of the holidays, and a happy new year.
Love and blessings,
Ben
